FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How can therapy help?

The aim of therapy is to provide you with the opportunity to work through difficulties in a safe and confidential environment without judgement or criticism. People book appointments for all sorts of different reasons that include feeling unhappy or anxious, experiencing challenging thoughts, feelings or unwanted patterns of behaviours, to explore life events, painful experiences and memories that feel difficult to cope with.

What can I talk about?

You are free to discuss whatever you wish. Some people have an idea of what they want to bring to therapy, others may feel confused and have less of an understanding of why they seek help but sense that something does not quite feel right.

Who seeks therapy?

Anyone is able to access therapy. I currently meet with individual adults and I welcome you, regardless of your culture, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or employment group.

How many sessions will I need?

Regular and consistent work is essential to see the benefits of therapy. The number of sessions will be discussed during the assessment and very much depends on your individual circumstances and needs. It is possible for some individuals to see progress faster than expected but please keep in mind that once therapy starts, new issues can arise that you were not aware of and may wish to explore. We will discuss this together during reviews, conducted on a timely basis.

How do I make an appointment?

You can contact me by telephone or email. All voicemails and emails are only opened by myself. We can arrange a brief telephone consultation where I can introduce myself and answer any questions that you may have, and you can let me know what is happening for you. If we decide to continue, we will then book your first session.
